名前 : スレイティバックカモメ

科学的名称 : Larus schistisagus

エリア: アジアの種で、日本、韓国、ロシアの沿岸地域に生息している

識別 : 非常に大きなカモメで、背中と翼の上側は濃い灰色で、頭、腹、尾は白いです。

脚と足はピンク色で、目は黄色、嘴は黄色で先端付近に赤い斑点があります。

太平洋カモメとも呼ばれています。

食品:  単独で行動することが多く、主に新鮮な魚を食べますが、海岸で餌を探したり、昆虫を食べることもあります。

面白: この素晴らしい鳥の生息数は10万羽にも満たず、絶滅危惧種ではありませんが、常に目を光らせておくべき鳥です

Scientific Name: Slaty-backed Gull

Area: An Asian species, found in coastal regions from Japan and South Korea but also Russia

Identification: This is a very large gull that has a dark grey back and top side of wings, white head, belly, tail.

It has pink legs and feet, yellow eyes and, a yellow bill with a red spot near the tip. It is also called the Pacific Gull 

Food: They are often seen on their own & feed on mainly fresh fish, but will scavenge for food on beaches and will also eat insects.

Interesting: There is less than 100,000 of these stunning birds and although not endangered still one that we should always keep an eye on.

For those just wanting to see the animals, we advise bringing a pair of binoculars along for the trip.
